Simple and Advanced views

Whence has two views. Simple shows the essentials. Advanced shows every screen and every figure. Nothing is removed in either view, and every screen keeps its address: the view only changes how things are arranged.

Switch between the Simple and Advanced views · Video 0:21

Step 1: Switch views

  • At the bottom of the menu, click Simple or Advanced.
  • Or open the account menu (your avatar, top right) and click Switch to Advanced view or Switch to Simple view. This works with the menu folded and on a phone.

The choice is yours alone: it is saved with your profile and follows you from one device to another. Other members of the account keep their own view. New members start in Simple.

The view gives no access. Your permissions and your plan decide what you can open, in both views.

The Simple menu

Six entries, with neighboring screens grouped as tabs:

EntryTabs
HomeToday, Dashboards
Conversions(one screen)
VisitorsVisits, People, Saved groups
IssuesFrustration, Steps to purchase, Purchase paths, Forms
MarketingSources, Ads, Products
Reports(one screen)

At the bottom, Get started with your progress (for example Get started 2/4) until the setup checklist is done, then Setup. Settings stays below.

Expert screens have no entry in the Simple menu: Page insights, Heatmaps, Elements, Events, Impact, Creatives and Surveys & announcements. Reach them with Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K, the Go to… box), through links on other screens, or by switching to Advanced. When you open Page insights, Heatmaps or Elements, they appear as tabs of one Pages group.

Step 2: The Advanced menu

The full menu, grouped by question:

  • Home, Dashboards, Reports
  • Visitors: Visits, People, Segments
  • Pages: Page insights, Heatmaps, Form analytics, Elements
  • Conversion: Funnels, Purchase paths, Frustration, Events, Impact
  • Marketing: Sources, Products, Ads, Conversions, Creatives
  • Engage: Surveys & announcements
  • Setup and Settings at the bottom

What changes on the screens

Three screens show the essentials first in Simple view and fold the rest behind a button:

  • Home: your sales in one sentence with three figures and a bar of sources, What needs you (up to three actions, ranked by money at stake), and Ask AI to ask a question about your store (it uses your AI requests, see AI top-ups). See full breakdown unfolds the daily revenue chart, live visitors and all sources. The setup checklist comes first until it is done.
  • Ads: a verdict sentence, one bar per platform against your store’s break-even ROAS, each marked Profitable, Break-even or Not profitable, and Details for the full screen. See Ads and ROAS.
  • Frustration: one estimated amount and Fix these first, then Details. See Frustration signals.

In Advanced view, these screens show everything at once.

Screens your plan does not include

  • In Simple view, a screen your plan does not open (such as Purchase paths, Products or Impact, which are part of Decide) is hidden from the menu and tabs. People who can change the plan see an Unlock more with Decide card on Home, with Compare plans.
  • In Advanced view, it stays in the menu with a lock.

A screen your permissions close works the same way: hidden in Simple view, grayed with a lock in Advanced view. See The eight rights.
