When the free month ends
Every new Whence account starts with 30 days free, whether you sign up on the web or install the Shopify app. No card is needed.
What you get during the free month
The free month runs on Connect at the 5,000 visits volume: 5,000 visits a month, 3 stores, 10 people and 500 AI requests, with the ad platform connections unlocked. Connect an ad account early: sending your orders to your ad platforms is the part most worth trying.
Pick a plan before the end: you keep your free days
Step 1: Check how long is left
Open Plan. Under Your plan, you see Free trial and how long is left (1), for example “9 days left · nothing charged until you choose”.
In the Shopify app, Plan shows “Free trial ends on” and the date.
Step 2: Pick a plan
The plans sit under One month free on every plan (1). Pick the volume, then click Start Connect free (2), or the button of the plan you want.
You can choose a paid plan at any time during the free month without losing the days left:
- Card (Stripe): your subscription starts when the free month ends. You are charged only then, and you can cancel before. (In the last 48 hours of the free month, the subscription starts right away.)
- Shopify: Shopify receives the number of free days left, and charges only after them.
The reminder
Three days before the end, the account owner gets a notification in the bell: “Your free month ends on” followed by the date. It reads: “Pick a plan in Plan to keep everything as it is. Otherwise your account moves to the Free plan: 500 visits a month, 30 days of history, 1 store, 1 person, no AI. Nothing is deleted.”
If you have not picked a plan
Nothing is charged. The account moves to the Free plan by itself, and the bell says “Your account is now on the Free plan”.
What changes:
- Visits: Whence keeps recording, up to 500 visits a month. Past that, recording stops until the 1st.
- Stores: the Free plan covers 1 store. Your oldest store keeps recording; the others are paused and record nothing.
- Team: the Free plan covers 1 person. The owner keeps access; other members lose their access for now. Their rights are set aside, not deleted.
- AI: the Free plan has none.
- Ad platforms: orders are no longer sent to your ad platforms. Your pixels stay set up, and you can still turn them off or remove them.
- History: from now on, recordings are kept 30 days, the Free plan’s history.
What does not change: nothing is deleted when the free month ends. No visit, store or team member is removed.
Getting everything back
Pick a paid plan on Plan (or in the Whence app in your Shopify admin). Paused stores and suspended members come back by themselves, within the limits of the new plan. Buying extra stores as an add-on brings paused stores back too.
Want to stay on Free for good? You do not need to do anything. You can also switch before the end with Use Free on Plan; this ends the free month right away.
