Elements

Elements ranks the elements visitors click the most across your store: buttons, links, images, tabs, fields. For each one you see how many clicks and visitors it got, how many of those clicks were frustrated, and a replay of a visit that clicked it.

See which elements visitors click on a page · Video 0:21

Find it under Pages > Elements in Advanced view. In Simple view it has no menu entry: open it with Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K), or from All elements on a click heatmap. It needs the Session replays permission.

Step 1: The table

Most clicked elements has one row per element and page, up to 100 rows:

  • Element: its short text, for example “Add to cart”, or No text for an icon or an image, with the end of its CSS selector underneath. Hover it to see the full path.
  • Page: where it was clicked.
  • Clicks and Visitors: how many clicks, from how many distinct visitors.
  • Rage clicks: several fast clicks on the same spot.
  • Dead clicks: a click on something that looks clickable, and nothing happened.
  • Watch: opens a visit a moment before the click, so you see what led to it.

Rage and dead clicks come from the frustration signals detected on the same element and page.

Step 2: Filter the list

At the top, choose:

  • The period, from Today to Last 90 days. The same period carries over to Heatmaps, Page insights and Form analytics.
  • The device: All devices, Desktop, Tablet or Mobile.
  • The page: type part of an address in Filter by page, for example /products/. Clicks are then counted on that page only.

Export CSV downloads what is on screen.

Use it well

  • An element with many dead clicks often looks clickable but is not: a product photo without a zoom, a badge styled like a button, a size chart icon that opens nothing. Watch two or three visits before you change anything.
  • An element with many rage clicks usually reacts too slowly, or its effect is out of sight (a cart drawer opening off-screen, for example).
  • Compare Mobile and Desktop: a button that works with a mouse can be too small for a thumb.

When nothing shows

No click measured yet means the tracker has not recorded clicks for this period, page or device. Try a longer period, another page or All devices. If the list stays empty, check the installation with Check your setup.

To see the same clicks drawn over the page itself, open Heatmaps.
