Add-ons

Add-ons raise one limit of your plan without moving to a bigger plan. They are added to a paid plan only: on the Free plan, or during the free month before you pick a plan, the Add-ons section says “Pick a plan below first.”

What you can add

Add-onPrice per monthHow many
One more store$3 eachUp to 20
90 days of history$4One history at a time
180 days of history$6One history at a time
365 days of history$8 to $60, by volume (see below)One history at a time
80 more AI requests a month$7 eachUp to 20 blocks

The 365-day history costs more on bigger volumes, because more visits are kept:

Visits per month365 days of history
5,000$8
25,000$9
50,000$18
100,000$25
250,000$60

A history add-on must be longer than the history your plan already keeps, so Whence only offers the longer ones: 90 days on plans that keep 60 days (the 5,000 visits volume), 180 days on plans that keep 60 or 90 days, and 365 days on every paid plan.

On a yearly plan, each add-on costs twelve times its monthly price. The 20 percent yearly discount applies to the plan, not to add-ons.

The AI block add-on gives you 80 more AI requests every month, for as long as you keep it. If you only need more AI now and then, AI top-ups add requests only in the months you run out.

Change add-ons in the web app (card payment)

Step 1: Open Plan

In the Whence web app, open the account menu at the top left, then Plan. The Add-ons section is below your current plan.

Step 2: Pick what you want

Use + and − next to One more store (1) and 80 more AI requests a month. Under Longer history (2), choose a history, or keep the first choice, your plan’s own history (for example “60 days (plan)”). Then click Review new total (3).

Step 3: Review the total and confirm

Whence shows your plan, each add-on and the New total (1), per month or per year, with this line: “Stripe charges or credits the difference for the days left.” Click Confirm add-ons (2). You see “Add-ons updated.” Nothing changes at Stripe before you confirm.

To remove an add-on, set it back to zero (or pick the plan’s own history) and confirm the same way.

Change add-ons in the Shopify app

If Shopify bills your plan, the web app shows: “Your plan is billed by Shopify. Change add-ons in the Whence app in your Shopify admin (Apps, Whence, Plan).” There, click Add-ons, make your changes and click Review new total. Shopify then opens a page where you approve the new total. Add-ons are billed by Shopify with your plan.

When you change plans

Your add-ons move with you. The new plan’s price is calculated with the add-ons you already have. A history add-on that your new plan no longer needs (because the plan keeps as much history) is dropped.

Messages you may see

  • “You have 3 active stores. Pause a store in Whence before going under 3 stores.” (Shopify app) You tried to remove store add-ons while those stores are still active. Pause a store under Stores first.
  • “Add-ons are added to a paid plan. Choose a plan first.” (Shopify app) Pick a paid plan, then add.
  • “The add-ons could not be priced. Try again.” A temporary error. Try again in a moment; if it persists, contact support.
